  1. Well, I fixed the On Demand access on my cable box. How you ask? Googled the problem, and read that the wire going to the Cable box cannot go through anything prior except regular splitters. I had it going through a VCR first. When I switched it around, everything worked. Nice technical support Comcast.

As for the Transformers cards, they were produced in 1985 by Milton Bradley, and called Action Cards, selling 8 in a pack. This is one of the few websites with detailed information and pictures.

  2. Following up on George Lucas, he is releasing a “special edition” of the Indiana Jones movies in May. Not Blu-ray, but standard DVD. When the new movie comes out, I heard that he will package it with another “collector’s edition” due in December. This is ridiculous, 3 DVD versions of Indy without high def? And people will buy it. Lucas can rip every one of his beard hairs out and market it as real Ewok fur and people would pay $20 for it.

BTW, can I do a review for the show on Super Smash Brothers? It comes out here on Saturday.

  3. Dennis, that’d be great. Greg and I were just talking about asking you to come on the show. Are you buying Super Smash Bros. Brawl on launch day? So far, it’s been receiving even slightly higher ratings than Super Mario Galaxy. Maybe we can set something up for one night next week.

By the way, since when are major video games released on a Saturday? I guess Nintendo doesn’t want anyone to cut school or work. Yes, this game is going to be that popular.

  4. This episode was fantastic! After listening to this, whenever my wife would ask me to do even the most trivial thing I would say “NO I HAVE TO BUILD MY ARMOR!” and I’d laugh and laugh. I thought it was hilarious but she thought it was dumb. I forget she is “neuro-typical”.

Weird old people at Dunkin’ Donuts doing strange things? I AM NOT SURPRISED.

Some of my favorite non-sports cards ever were a set called “Rockcards” from the early nineties. It was a 288 card set of nothing but members of hair bands and other hard rock musicians. While it could be fantastic at times with cards of people like Alice Cooper and Toni Iommi, most cards were cheesy topless pictures of guys like Kip Winger and the singer of Warrant.

  5. another one of my favourite episodes. really interesting hearing about aspects of american culture that you may take for granted but is so engaging and exotic to my ears. i collected football (soccer) sticker-cards by panini when i was a kid – completed albums can go for £300 ($500) on ebay now. ‘garbage pail kids’ was something i also collected and still love to this day – i have the first series framed on my wall.
