I was thinking about Craig Wasson, who was in Body Double with Melanie Griffith and looks just like Bill Maher.

Dennis, people like you and me collect files and media that we're interested in. I used downloading Beatles bootlegs as an example. I'm a big Beatles fan and enjoy listening to their studio outtakes and concerts. I think that's a normal, healthy hobby because I actually get some use out of the files.

But you're right, there are many people like Larry who are addicted to collecting media they'll never, ever watch, play, or listen to. I don't understand that. It's a waste of time, bandwidth, hard drive space, and in Larry's case, a lot of money.

At least Larry was a really nice guy. Some of these digital packrats are freaks!

Hoarding is definitely an addiction. It's like card collecting, beanie babies, etc. I know 50 year old men who would scavenge ebay for these stupid plush dolls for their collection. Remember, Larry who would buy every video game and not open them. Why??? He's in his 60s and probably has over 1000 games not played. Doesn't make any sense. I'm guilty of hoarding media, but it is of things I like and will watch or listen to. I won't download crap like Twilight or Knowing, but I will I will watch things I normally wouldn't see like Wanted or The Spirit because of the digital format.
