I would really like to see Avatar but lately all I can pull off is waiting for movies to come out on home video. I don't know if Avatar is the type of movie that can be appreciated on a television, though. The 3D glasses technology sounds complicated and I don't know if that's going to make renting a 3D version from Netflix possible. I can't imagine how much the studios would charge for a movie that is not only Blu-Ray but also 3D and on top of that, a special type of 3D. I'm not going to pay to own it based on what I've heard so far and on from what I've seen of the toys. The ships and robot suits don't look as cool to me as the stuff from Aliens.

I just thought of something. I don't remember getting a headache from watching RealD 3D movies, so maybe my Avatar headache had something to do with the IMAX 3D technology and/or the glasses. Even though the 3D effect was similar, maybe IMAX 3D causes more eye strain...plus the fact that Avatar was twice as long as the RealD movies I've seen.

I forgot another nominee for the Lame Idiot of 2009: Bernie Madoff.

That screen shot from Ghostbusters looks like something from a high school play that was made in crafts class, not a big budget feature film run by professionals!
