  1. Peter Cullen has gone totally insane talking about maintaining the integrity of the character. Somebody tell him shut up! It’s just a cartoon truck! He’s talking like he’s in contention for an Oscar instead of a voice in a 20 minute toy commercial. He doesn’t even write the stuff! If Orci & Kurtzman decide Optimus is a communist vampire clown car powered by Hitler’s brain in this cartoon, what’s Cullen going to do? I’ll tell you what he’s gonna do-he’s gonna read his lines and take the friggin’ paycheck.

I liked everybody more when they weren’t so serious. That dialogue sounds like somebody thinks this is Shakespeare with toy robots. Blah blah blah talk talk talk. I miss the days when the only way Megatron knew Optimus was in the same room was because this giant semi truck all of a sudden dropped on him through the wall.

  2. Ahhh, I thought you’d be excited. Ha ha. Well, remember the series has to be dark, dark, mature, dark, mature. No more goofy Starscream/Megatron moments, or Optimus Prime dorkishly discovering how to play football. At least the HUB will show the old Joe and TF series though.

  3. For anyone who sees this post, the premiere of Transformers Prime has been moved to November 29. Strange. Anyhow, Generation 1 episodes air nightly at 12 midnight Eastern, followed by GI Joe Real American Hero at 12:30. Oddly all of those follow reruns of Family Ties, Wonder Years, Doogie, and Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and the Adam West Batman!

  4. I wonder why they chose to go with the old cartoon at all and then put it on after everybody’s gone to sleep. Who is going to be watching old Transformer cartoons at midnight? But it’s sort of consistent seeing how they market trendy shirts with 1980s Transformer designs to the teenage vampire wannabees who shop at Hot Topic. Hasbro must be going after the untapped market of nostalgic insomniacs, graveyard shifters and people who fell asleep watching Happy Days and forgot to turn off the TV.

After all the recent reissues on DVD, who do they think is going to be watching these Transformer cartoons at all in the first place?

  5. I have a feeling much of the 80’s sitcom/drama stuff is filler until newer shows come around. I am grateful to be able to watch the old Batman every night, I mean, what a block! Batman, TF G1, GI Joe.

  6. about 20 years ago joked that maybe one day we’d be shaving with seven blades. well, now we’re up to six i think…
