Man that UPS Texas story is a classic. Still funny even now and every time I listen to it.
Listening to these clips really took me back. I’ve moved a couple times over the last few years and each clip transported back to different times and places during the last few years of my life. I remember listening to your shows while walking my dogs (one of whom died a long time ago) in South Dakota. I remember listening to you guys when I went on a vacation with my wife in Pittsburgh when she was pregnant. I remember listening to you guys in airports all over the place and of course in Antarctica when you were the only company I had as I sat alone in a little box out on the ice looking at the snow for hours. I already know that now the latest shows remind me of Florida and I haven’t even left here yet!
Wow what memories. Five years is really a long time. Congratulations on keeping the enthusiasm for the podcast alive and not fading completely or driving each other crazy.

When we started out in 2005, I never thought we’d still be going five years later. I thought we would’ve run out of things to talk about by now, but that isn’t the case at all.
2005 doesn’t seem *that* long ago, but then I think about it: Twitter didn’t exist, most people were still using MySpace, there were no Michael Bay Transformers movies, everyone thought Tiger Woods was a nice respectable guy, Michael Jackson was a living corpse (instead of a dead one), and Ted Danson’s blackface photos were still shrouded deep within the internet, forgotten by all but us.
We’ve lived through the deaths of Pat Morita, George Carlin, Gary Coleman, Cory Haim, and Billy Mays. We’ve come up with our own sequels to movies: Ghost Dad 2, Dutch 2, and Under Siege 3. We’ve questioned the purpose of home computers in the 1980s and 90s. We’ve shaken hands with Ed Begley Jr., Dan Aykroyd, Lewis Black, Olivia Munn, Juliana Hatfield, and Jessie Ventura. And we’ve had excellent guests on the show, including celebrities, filmmakers, podcasters, wrestling fans, friends, and a weather researcher in Antarctica/toy robots archeologist.
It’ll be interesting to see how our 10 year retrospective turns out in 2015. What kind of crazy stuff will Greg and I discuss during the next five years? In what ways will the Paunch luck screw us over? What stupid horrible movies will be released? Which celebrities will die? What will the new video game consoles be like? And most importantly, what will Dr. Phil, Stan Lee, Louie Anderson, and Dennis Haskins be up to?
‘the ancient greeks of podcasting’? now that’s some leap in evolution from one episode to the next! 5 years really is such a long time in podcasting. i listen to quite a few podcasts and they think it’s momentous when they just get to six months. i love the attitude about your going to carry on out of spite – to prove any of your doubters wrong! seriously; well done fellas. keep your fans laughing and informed, and give them a reason to go online.
