  1. as i’ve noted previously, i listen to kevin smith’s podcasts almost as much as yours. it must be a new jersey thing. i heard the original show where he and scott mosier spit-balled the story of ‘tusk’; itself sourced from a prankster’s personal ad in england; and it was hilarious. the images and possibilities you conjure up in your own head will always be stranger than the execution. therefore i thought ‘tusk’ was something of a disappointment even though johnny depp is always watchable and justin long is carving a niche as an actor appearing in weird horror films (the mental ‘jeeper creepers’). nevertheless, i’m glad smith made the film as horror seems to be the one film genre still actually encouraging original ideas and striving for memorable visuals. i’m looking forward to the follow-up ‘moose jaws’. yes, it’s ‘jaws’ with a moose.
