    • NPR article on the original The Omen film starring Gregory Peck, David Warner and Lee Remick (directed by Richard Donner), and the upcoming new film starring Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles and Mia Farrow (directed by John Moore) which premieres tomorrow.

    Now I happen to really like several of John Moore’s movies such as Behind Enemy Lines and Flight of the Phoenix but I’ll pass on this one.

    Louie Anderson is a stand-up comedian and former host of the game show Family Feud.

    In 1997, Richard Gordon extorted money from Louie Anderson, threatening to tell tabloids his claim that Anderson requested sexual acts from him in a Ridgewood, NJ, casino in 1993. Anderson didn’t want to tarnish his image, so he paid Gordon $100,000 between 1997 and 1998. When Gordon’s demands increased to $250,000 in 2000, Anderson informed the police. Gordon was arrested and sentenced to 21 months in jail.

    This old British street vendor sells peelers in NYC. He swears they are the sharpest peelers in existence and makes a mess all over the sidewalk trying to prove it.

    Update 2/16/11: The old British street vendor’s name was Joe Ades. He died February 3, 2009, at the age of 75. Links:

    You should check out www.gunthernet.com. He is a musician from Sweden. Read his bio and watch his videos (especially “Ding Dong Song”). Words cannot describe this monstrosity. I think he would be a good candidate.
