  1. the 60s ‘batman’ show is one of those rare shows that despite being 50 years old, holds up on many levels – production design, characters, performances and especially the jokes. those first two 90s ‘brady bunch’ films are another rarity – comedy films that are actually funny, even though shelley long is eminently unlikable. 1992’s ‘singles’ is also one of those films that are piously 90s – i think the only element i don’t cringe at is the appearance of alice in chains. i always thought tommy ramone looked like william ‘out for justice’ forsythe. it’s a shame tom wilson is so snooty towards ‘back to the future’ – the focus on his character in part II makes that film and is my favourite of the trilogy. i though chuck norris action jeans were just an internet meme until recently. i love the old ‘jem’ cartoon and was looking forward to the film. then i saw the trailer.
